Investors to build tourism resort at Playa Guacamaya Plantation Properties will invest USD$250 million in a tourism complex at Playa Guacamaya in the Sardinal de Carillo district of Guanacaste. Construction will begin early next year on a 150 room Ritz-Carlton Hotel and 800 residential homes. The 900 hectare project is expected to open in 2010. The residential area will be based on the beach, equestrian and ecological theme and will include a golf course, spa and a marina with 220 slips for yachts. The company has established a strategy of adapting the architecture of the project to the natural environs, in an effort to minimized ecological impacts. The strategy also adheres to the preferences of their target market – people who aggressively seek destinations rich in natural resources. Back
